Quote: Try another ecu reset then either battery method, or fuse method. Battery method leave it over 15 minutes disconnected. Ecu maybe the same. If your clock is not messed up when restarting, or takes 2 tries to fire up. You didn't reset nothing long enough. Once you let it start just let it idle no touching the gas pedal. If it doesn't work try cleaning your throttle body. Report back your findings so other members can help diagnosing the problem. The more info the better.

Good Luck!
I won't be able to get in the garage today, so tomorrow i'll try running it for 10 min to see if the rpm will drop, if not i'll try my old throttle body to see if that will make a change.
got some other things in the inside to work thru, but enjoying the process.

Looks good. Drive it some more to make sure your not having high idle. Of course on cold days it will be high to help get it to opererating temp faster.

Edit: So it took 11 minutes of actual driving, or stationary idle to bring it down?

11 min just simply idling, I don’t want to drive until I tear into the old transmission to figure out how the transfer gets its oil...
