Default Check Engine Light and VSC flashing

I have 2007 is250 and the VSC and Check Engine lights are flashing. I am taking it today for service. I do not want to get ripped off...any ideas of what it could be?

I would not drive that car much at all with a flashing check engine light. You may end up doing some serious harm to the catalytic converters or other engine components. You need to read the diagnostic code(s) from the ODBII port in order to start diagnosing your problem correctly...

you are gonna do irreversible damage if you keep driving it there is a reason its flashing trying to get your attention.

I've had that and it was my #6 coil that needed to be replaced. I'm not as mechanically inclined as some people on here, but I don't understand how the VSC had anything to do with the coil but it fixed the issue. I will also add that I've had my VSC light come on and off constantly for 5 years and nothing was ever found to be an issue. Once the engine light came on though I got it checked asap. I may have had 2 separate issues. Definitely get it checked asap.

In case you are curious, the reason for the "CHECK VSC" is that the ECU disables traction control whenever the check engine light is on.
