OEM sub

Has anyone ever put a aftermarket sub in place of the oem sub with its own amp? I'm curious of the rattling. Due to the small trunk space I want to remove the big box in my trunk.

It's been 5 years with my ML Sub shot. Am searching like you, there was a Pioneer Sub which work fine, but I don't have the model.
