Alternate sub for 2008 IS with Mark Levinson
My Mark Levinson sub is having issues. I am wondering if anyone has replaced the OEM sub with something aftermarket using the OEM amp and modifying the OEM enclosure. My sub is not exhibiting the typical plastic rattle failure. The connection has corroded and I don't think I will be able to repair it. I don't want to spend $300-400 another another ML sub that will probably fail again.

I think it's an intriguing idea, fab up a little box underneath that will mount up with minimal changes to the existing setup to get out of the free air sub market. Of course I've never really looked at how all that's put together to design one because I'm one of the very few that haven't had issues with their OEM sub. Does anyone know what the factory power output to the OEM sub is?
