Default Battery Replacement Problems

Does anybody have the same problem before? I was trying to replace the battery because I could not start the car. However I realized that the battery was in a case, and the cord of positive electrode was fixed to the case. I was not able to remove that.

Do you have any ideas how to disconnect them?

Thank you very much for your answer!!

That thing is a PITA!

The wire holder is a standard clamp used to hold cables and hoses. It can be undone but the reach and angles make it difficult! The easy one is near the front, use a 45° angle pick to spread it. The next cable back I used a radiator hose pick. From the handle the pick end forms a U and points back at the handle. Pry them open.

These are ratchet type clamp. They close easily by squeezing together. To open them, they need spread from the center outward. In the open a flat head screw driver works but there is little room.

Good luck!

I just pried the plastic part off with a screwdriver. It came off pretty easy and pressed back on no problem.

After my experiences with batteries in my 2IS, last time I decided to remove the surrounding case to avoid this exact issue. LOL!

+1 First thing I yanked out when I got my car. I figured it would be a PIA to remove if out stranded somewhere.

The casing does offer some slim/limited level of heat shielding from the engine but it can't be much. Certainly not enough for sufferering it can create....

Lexus owner unite and carry side cutters! lol

I have built heat shields for my batteries by using an insulation wrap, do not know the real positive impact for it. Hence for some of the European makers, they have batteries out of the engine bay...

^^^^Heat certainly affects batteries, but the big reason for trunk mounted batteries is shifting the weight from the front to the rear.
