2006 is250

After about 200 miles owning the car the tire gauge alert came on and freaked me out. the next morning i come out to start the car ( very cold day) and i got a CEL for "check VSC". the car smelled like gas bad on my first fill, but like a super ****ing idiot i topped off, even knowing it was a big no no. i dont know why i did it.
Also, the dip**** that i bought it from told me it runs synthetic and that he put synthetic oil in it. I pull a service record form 2015 of a previous owner and it was changed with conventional oil! what do I do? i heard you dont run synthetic after conventional .

its giving me a problem starting too. out dong errands. ill have to hit the start button twice. once it was three times before it would start. it spit a little. its not good because its happening too frequently

i simply cannot believe the flimsy plastic door mechanism that was used. i cannot from either side open the rear drivers side door.

what about flushing the transmission? fuel filters? flushing radiators? ive never owned a Lexus so i dont know what necessary. ive been looking for a maintenance schedule but im not finding anything

1) its cold out. Tpms are overly sensitive. Check the air pressure and adjust if necessary.
2) What flimsy door are you refering to?
3) take your car in to check codes
4) try to reprogram your keyfob to unlock all 4 doors. It is done with the fob itself. This may remedy the situation.
5) Are you using premium fuel
6) how many miles?
7) check your battery to ensure that it doesn’t need to be replaced( or alternator, etc.)

What year is it?
The trans is sealed and good for 50 - 70,000 mi before doing a dump and fill.
Coolant, if original is 8 to 10 years. Check it when cold.
Oil, feel free to run synthetic.

I would also start with a fuel cleaner. The 250's use an injector in the TB to aide startup. When the engine is shut off, all of the combustion gasses from cylinders with the intake valves open go into the intake and settle there. This could plug that injector over many years. I would also clean the MAF sensor and if you have no history, replace the spark plugs.

Agreed. Have the battery load tested. If it cranks too slow it may not start easily.

If the car is automatic, the transmission has lifetime transmission fluid, which means you don't replace it. Now, some people do, and there are stories where people change it and then their tranny goes out. Personally, I am about to hit 200k with my original tranny fluid, and I don't plan on messing with it.

In late 90's Mercedes and BMW came up with sealed transmissions and lifetime transmission fluid.
Then few years later.....
they changed their story.
