Whats up boys and girls, so im VERY new here and just need to ask a few questions to my real lexus owners out there. I have come to fall in love with the IS350. I am looking to buy one from a buddy of mine from a dealer auction. The one im looking at specifically is a 2007 with about 87k on it. The car has had a seriously rough history but nothing too crazy. I will be posting the service history from lexus as well as the carfax if possible. I just need to know if all of the major recalls have been taken care and if a lexus like this one with the mileage and the vehicles history will be a reliable long lasting vehicle but still a fun one to drive!! 🤙🏼

Jeeze, both first and second owners can't drive or something? Lots of alignments done. Service history seems okay. You'll want to sign up the car on the Lexus Owners site to actually get the detailed service history, Carfax may not show any recalls performed (which in this case it doesn't).

TBH, I'd stay away especially because it's probably going to the dealer auction for its accident history. If you can get it checked out by a independent mechanic and they give it the okay, that'd probably give some peace of mind...

While cars that end up in an auto auction are not the cream of the crop, a lot of them are still a good deal. Find a reliable mechanic familiar with the Lexus line and have the car inspected. Don't rely strictly on carfax and the Lexus history.

There have been 9 recalls in all, which includes 2 for air bags. To find out if they have been done, you would have to give the VIN to a dealer and have them look them up. There are two rubber oil line hoses on the engine that rupture that were never made into a recall. Lexus made them a 10 year extended warranty. They are the main oil cooler line and the VVTI (variable valve timing) oil line. If no one complained, it was never done and a 2007 has just gone out of warranty.

to the OP, take the VIN to your local Lexus service center and have them find out for you if all of the recalls/TSB's (Technical Service Bulletins) have been performed or not.

The more I think about all the alignments and tire replacements, something is out of whack. The body/frame is bent. Walk away.

I wouldn't go any where near that thing. No reason to rush into a beat up car when you can just wait for one to pop up that's not. I mean, wrecked twice before it ever had it's first oil change? That's special!

Multiple instances of replacing one tire and trying to realign it, sounds like all those wrecks have jacked it up pretty good.

Agree with the above. Too many things have happened on this car. Too many accidents.

Run away from this. I wouldn't take this car even if THEY paid ME!

The 87k miles is tempting, the accidents are not. I'd avoid salvage title cars unless this is like $6k. It will still be a reliable car in terms of mechanical components but there could be other issues with electronics and such. I'd keep searching. You will find something better. Good luck!

Why would you even consider this car? It definitely seems like it is cursed. The reason the miles are so low is due to the fact its spent half of its life in the body shop and the owner's had loaners. Lol. Honestly, stay the heck away.
