Default Wiring issues or dead review mirror unit? please help!

Hello all i'm new to the forum and just bought a 2008 IS250 AWD and i'm very glad to have found this support forum. Thank you again for all your helps and patient.
This is my very first time tackling electrical wiring on a car so I'm pretty much taking baby steps, please bare with me.

So, I bought a brand new out of the box rearview mirror (that has an integrated screen for back up camera and this screen is also for GPS, bluetooth, music, apps, etc...), but I couldn't get it to turn on after tinkering with the fuse boxes and wiring up the connections. This mirror supposed to turn on automatically if all connections are right.

Here are the 3 wires coming out of the unit:
1) Yellow wire said B+ (+12V connect to battery) - i'm assuming this is the constant +12V wire. 15 AMP Fuse and also another fuse within the black connector as shown in picture below.
2) Black ground wire
3) Red wire said ACC (ignition trigger) 15 AMP Fuse.

For testing purposes: I routed the yellow B+ wire directly to the battery and did not tap in any +12v wire in the fuse box (I don't even know which one is the constant +12v connection anyway).
And for the red wire ACC, I connected it to the passenger's fuse box. I've tried both location - the ACC and IGN shown in highlighted picture below.

So after I made all the connections (assuming I did it right)... and turn on the car, but the screen in the mirror did not turn on. Is it safe to say this unit is DOA?

Thank you again for all your time and please advise.

I would suggest connecting the B+ and ACC wires to the battery positive and the ground to the battery negative. If the mirror/screen is good, it should turn on. If it doesn't, I would, like you, suspect the mirror is DOA.

Found my issue. First time around I didn't make the right connection so I got a blown fuse in the black connector. DOH! good rookie mistake. Another lesson to learn is I went all over town looking for this 3Amp tube like fuse and no electrical stores seem to carry it (tried: all of the auto part stores, wallgreens, target, best buy),... and finally only Home Depot has it which happens to be only 5 mins away from my house.
Well thank you for your response!

Glad it was an easy fix. Post some pics of what you have when you get it installed.
