Just bought a rare IS!!
Hey guys, I'm new here, I just picked up a 2008 Lexus is250 6 speed manual with only 36000 miles. White with Black and Tan interior. Anyone wanna help me out with what I need to be aware of, common problems or maintenance.

I would make sure all the prior service was done and if not get them done. Can't remember is there is anything major for the miles you have. Definitely, keep up with the schedule maintenance. Use a synthetic oil like Mobil1. Use premium fuel. I would look into an oil catch can. Take it to a dealer and make sure all the recalls have been done, I can't remember exactly, but there was a fuel rail, wipers, and passenger airbag recall. See if you dash and door panels need to be replaced. Anyone, please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong on any of these. I've been married for 20something years so I don't mind being corrected, lol.

Got one too about a month ago
2) Use high octane gas (Shell/Chevron) or better yet...find high octane non ethanol and add detergents yourself
3) Catch can
4) Disable EGR if your state allows
5) Most important: give it a good flogging a few times per month. Run the stew out of it. Italian Tuneup keeps mechanic away
6) Register on Lexus website and find out about history and get any recalls fixed
7) Enjoy

Check for recalls via this link
Go to this link and run your VIN number https://www.toyota.com/recall This will help you verify what recall service has or has not been done. Enjoy your car!

Walnut blasting at a BMW shop to clean out Carbon Buildup.
Get an oil catch can.
Replace the rear calipers if they are seized.
Get any recall/TSB work done
Make sure the owner has changed out the transmission fluid, else do it soon.
else just replace common wear and tear items as you'd normally.

Holy **** dude that's pretty good grab for an 08 6-speed with that low miles. Are you the 2nd owner of the vehicle? With 36,000 miles on it I'm pretty sure it should be on good condition but good to be safe just change out all the fluids Any more details would be info such as clean title or salvage, how the previous owner maintained it and etc...
