I just picked up a 2008 IS250 with 68k on the clock. There isnt any issues with idle or misfire codes and I want to keep it that way. Do you periodically use seafoam or liqui moly or something else to keep your intake clean and free of carbon build up? I dont have a problem now and would really like to keep it that way. If you use something, how often do you use it?

Just give it a good ol italian tune up every couple of days and you will have no problems with build-up

 

Seafoam, I use periodically. Every 6K miles.

 

Don't know much about the SC430. Did it have similar issues to the 2.5L in the IS250? If so, how many miles you got and have you ever had any carbon issues?

 

1) Italian Tune up
2) Try to take more longer trips, not short tripping
3) Go to a lower NOACK oil. (see BITOG forum)
4) Install an oil catch can
5) Use a fuel system cleaner with PEA in it. (Google it)
6) Use Top Tier gasoline
7) Enjoy your car
