Default Fuel injector problem... Open circuit

I have an 07 is250. My check engine and VSC lights came on. I went and got the engines codes checked and it turn out I have an open fuel injector circuit at cylinder 6?

Has anyone ever experienced this problem? Or has anyone done a DIY fuel injector replacement? I suspect this could also be an issue with the ECU as well.

Are you getting horrible fuel mileage and experiencing bogging or odd performance when driving the car? Yes, you could DIY remove and replace the direct injector. But first, be certain it is a bad injector before going through the process. Exactly what code did you pull?

Gville350... sorry for the late reply. Yes I am getting horrible gas mileage and very poor acceleration. Especially on steep hills and highway on ramps.... But here are the engine codes I got:

P0206 - injector circuit/open - cylinder 6
P0306 - cylinder 6 misfire detected
P0102 - mass or volume air flow "A" circuit low
P0113 - intake air temperature sensor 1 circuit high (bank 1)

First, try getting some CRC Mass Airflow sensor cleaner and try cleaning yours up to see if it helps at all. Alot cheaper to start there than jumping directly to the injector.

Gville350 the CRC MAS cleaner was first thing tried. I was praying that would work but nothing. A mechanic I spoke to also told me that injectors don't normally fail on these cars. That's another reason why I was thinking the cleaner might have worked.

If there is a cheaper and less time consuming fix. That would definitely be the route I would want to take.

Cheapest route is to switch out injector 6 with another cylinder and see if your codes change. If they do then change out the injector. If they don't then start looking elsewhere.

Not every time that you clean a maf sensor will it fix it IF its the problem. Sometimes they need to be replaced.

Yeah getting to the injector is a very complex and time consuming job... I feel that if I go that, removing all parts required just reach the injector I may as well replace it rather than go thru the process 2 times or more

Thanks flynryan the more I think about it replacing the MAS may be a good idea. But I'll try cleaning it again on tomorrow morning first.

When it comes to a MAF sensor, the best troubleshooting thing to do is just unplug it and see if the car runs better.

Ive never done that so dont have any input on it.

On another note and this is probably a silly question but you never know, have you checked your air cleaner to make sure its not all dirty and not supplying air?

Hey guys. I know its been a while since i replied. But I have replaced the MAF and air filter and still no change. Isn't there a separate ECU for the injectors themselves ?

There is an injector driver between the engine ECU and the injectors, yes.
