Default Fuel level problems, and check engine lights

Hey guys, I'm new to this forum, hoping you can help me with a few problems I was having recently.

I was driving my 06 IS250 (automatic & rwd) and noticed that the fuel level was dropping rapidly, and there was a slight loss of power. I filled up one gallon to make sure my eyes weren't deceiving me, and sure enough, I could slowly see the digital indicator (and the physical fuel gauge) dropping fast. The digital indicator dropped from "33 miles" to "30 miles" with just a small loop around my block. On my way back home I went up a hill, and the check VSC, check engine, and traction control lights all popped out. I'm not sure if this is related to the fuel problem, but it's still something that I'm trying to figure out.

What could be the cause of this rapid fuel level drop? Maybe bad spark plugs or O2 sensors? Could the "check vsc" be related to this problem? Hopefully i can get a shop to give me some obd code readings, but I'm scared to drive it anywhere at this point. Any insight would be much appreciated, thanks guys.

NOTE: The car is at 137,000 miles, and has been driven everyday for long distances for the last 2 years. Also, the car refuses to shift past fourth gear for some odd reason. I've been driving with the shifting problem for a while now, but it hasn't been until now that the mpg has dropped this significantly.

Has the "Fuel Pressure Sensor" recall been done? Check your service history on drivers.lexus.com.

Hey, thanks for the reply. The "Fuel Pressure Sensor" recall has not been done. It is not stated on the website either.

Heres the link for more information regarding this. I would take it into Lexus for inspection.

Nice find, I was completely unaware of this issue. I wonder if this can be done at home, I live pretty far from the dealership.

Sounds like you have two issues :

1) Trans solenoids not allowing you to shift past 4th
2) What could be the fuel pump and/or the sending unit that measures the amount of fuel in the tank.

But before anything, take the car to the dealership to have ALL of the open recalls performed on the car.

GL!
