Talking Vibration

Hey guys I had a question about a peculiar vibration i'm getting from my 2007 IS350.

To start off I just got new tires/balance (prior to the new wheels and balance the vibration describe below started at about 50mph)

The vibration (post new tires) starts at 75 - 80mph and runs permeates through whole car. Hard to pinpoint where its coming from but it comes in constant intervals which does not vary with speed, only gets louder as the speed increases. I even hit 90+ and put the car the in neutral to see if its related to the transmission but the vibration persists. Any ideas??

Side question: is the IS known to take forever when shifting gears?

Thanks

Sounds like it could be the new tires. Are they the same brand and model? Given that's the only thing you've stated that's changed. Maybe check the torque on your bolts? Check that your rims are flush with the hubs?

I would get everything rebalanced. If one of your rims was messed up the garage that did the installation and balance should have told you. They just didn't do a good job. Take it back and tell them to do it right.

Yes BlckGhst same problem..I PMed you

I had the same vibration before the tires/balance and the significantly improved after installing them. Now the vibration only occurs at high speeds (80+). The guy told me one of the wheels was slightly bent..could that be the issue? If so why doesn't the vibration change with speed/stay constant rather than intermittent). The vibration interval is the same no matter the speed and goes through the whole car.

Yea just checking in.. I have the same problem with the same vibration as well, I have not found a solution. I am going to remove my engine belt and spin the pullies by hand see if it's one of them, that's my next step.

If you're saying one wheel IS for sure bent, you will more than likely encounter what you're experiencing. When I purchased my '06 IS350 used, it had a slight pulsation on the HWY only around 65-75 mph. Any slower than that or faster, you couldn't feel it. I purchased a good, used factory wheel to replace the bad one and that immediately fixed my problem.

Best of luck and Merry Christmas!

You are supposed to use a well calibrated road force balancer and it will give you the exact value of force in lbs on each wheel. Thats how you troubleshoot a bent wheel or a defective tire (if its not obvious). I only trust a dealer with my wheel/tire balancing.
