Unhappy 2007 IS250 power steering won't work!

I recently purchased this car from someone my father knows. The car has been wrecked twice and my father has fixed it both times. We've had a few other issues with the car that we've fixed but we can't seem to fix the power steering. P/S light is on, VSC light, & CEL. We've checked all fuses, we've unplugged every plug, checked the EPS module located under the battery, etc. Also, they had the fuse plate (the white fuse cluster on the passenger side inside the fuse box) replaced before, the alternator fuse was blown. Really need some advice from Lexus experts. I've never owned a car with this much technology! Any help is greatly appreciated.

I'd suggest maybe looking into a replacement steering ecu. Good excuse to upgrade to an IS-F ecu! But before you do that, ensure that no wiring to the ECU got cut/pinched during one of these accidents.

thanks so much. One more quick question. There's a plug right by my battery, it has 2 wires, one is black with a red stripe & then other is black with a yellow stripe. Can you tell me what these go to? We unplugged them while the car is running & absolutely nothing happened, nothing even went off.

Theres a big difference between modifying and repairing a car. Most people here dont know much about repairing and "upgrading" to a newer ecu prob wont fix your problem. There is prob damage in your harness after the accidents and your steering ecu isnt receiving the correct voltage or its circuit ground is faulty. Verify your alternator is working correctly and if it is go trace the problem in the harness as it will manifest all of the problems you are experiencing.

Curious if you got this fixed and what it was?
When our alternator was acting up it would make the power steering not work all the time. After figuring out it was the alternator I replaced it with a new one from Oriellys and havent had a problem since.

it is not fixed. It still sitting in the same place unfortunately, kinda to the point where I'm gonna drive it without the power steering. But I did notice they had replaced the fuse panel because of the blown alternator fuse. May give that a try.

Easiest way is to just put a volt meter on the battery while the car is at idle. Should read around 13.5 to 14 ish volts. Mine was intermittent so it was a little harder to diagnose.

It seems like a weak alternator, get it tested!
