Is snow mode bad to use all the time?
So I've always just driven normally in my IS350, but recently I started using snow mode because of so much traffic and it's made the traffic much more bearable, and the car doesn't downshift as often and make braking so lumpy. I wonder if it turns it into an IS250...heh J/K guys.
But real talk, is it bad to ride in snow mode all the time? I never noticed a difference between regular mode and ECT Power, but on ECT Snow there's a huge difference in throttle response and how the car drives. My worry is maybe the transmission is slipping instead of locking the converter? Or is it really just the throttle response and shift points that change? I don't want long term damage because I'd rather just drive this car on snow mode all the time unless I'm on longer interstate highways. Too much power for my commute, first world problems =\

Yes you are fine to use it all the time. It softens throttle response and cuts out first gear. See this thread:
