Default Square Setup on IS350 245/40/18

Is it possible to put a 245/40/18 on the front w/o rubbing? I hear that the wheels are all the same size. So I was thinking it would be nice to have a square setup, where I could rotate the tires and keep them longer.

I didn't see anything on the search. Thanks for the help.

No, 18 inch factory wheels are staggered. 245s won't fit on the front. Some 235s will, some won't.

I wonder if anyone has 245.40/18 on their rear wheels. I know it is a smaller tire. I almost wish I could take the tires from my old car and put them on my new car. I have Pilot Super Sports and wouldn't mind putting them on the rear of the lexus.

If you want to put the 245.40.18 on your rears you could. There is really no reason why you can't.

Your 245/40/18 has an overall diameter (tire/rim) of 653.2 mm or 25.7"

Your 255/40/18 has an overall diameter (tire/rim) of 657.2 mm or 25.9", 8 millimeters more.

The fronts are 225/40/18 which have a overall diameter (tire/rim) of 637.2 mm or 25.1" (without taking any wear into account). So the stance from front to rear will still be fine, difference will not be noticeable.

The only real difference will be 10 mm of overall width from the 255's but being Pilot SS's, your traction will probably be better than the 255's that are on there now.

So go ahead if you need to change out the rears. It is entirely fine.

Here is a handy Tire Size Calculator.

Not to hijack the thread but I didn't see another thread and I'm kind of interested in the same info as I'm planning on buying tires Friday.

What's the biggest size tire that will fit stock 2014 rims? I have the stock sizes on there currently and feel like the wheels seem a little "small" if that makes sense, especially after my mom just bought a 2016 GS350 I have a little bit of wheel envy.

I'm curious if anyone has thrown like one size bigger tires on there and if it looked a little better.

You will have to be more specific and let us know what size rim you have now.

You could go to a 265/35/18 on the back. I would leave the front as is since it may rub if you go any wider.

I was thinking, what about spacers in the front? The only problem would be rubbing the fenders. Any thoughts?

You can fit 245/35/18s on the OEM 18x8.0+45 fronts without having any tire rub. I used to run that set-up in the front when I had stock wheels and never had an issue.

Likewise I run 245/40R17's on the stock 17x8's up front without any issues as well.

I haven't seen an is350 with 17s, I wouldn't mind a square 245;/40/17

Jeff knows this better than anyone, but the VDIM system on is350s doesn't like square setups. I run 245-40/17s on the front of my tree-fiddy on 17 x 8.5" wheels. No rubbing. The next set of summer tires I buy are going to be 255-40/17s. Edit: the 255-40/17s will go on the front. Back will be something like a 275-40/17 or 255-45/17s.

Any one running 245/40/18 fronts and 275/40/18 back on stock on their IS350?

The stock 18" wheels are not the same size. Rear is 8.5", and front is 8".
