Mine Just Died 07 136k IS350

Drove her back on highway, car shutoff close to home, everything went black and I was driving at 40 MPH, Steering wheel and brakes where working great and I managed to park safely !

However when stationary you almost lose power-steering without the alternator working. Keep in mind I was driving with lights off when ever possible, and all accessories were off. It was charging when throttle is pressed but not in idle, very weak.

2006 IS350 - original owner - 218,500 miles with the ORIGINAL alternator. I also abuse it with a stereo amp for my 12" sub. Watch me screw up my luck by posting this ???

Update 08/27/18 238,000 miles and alternator still going strong!

Mine died at 155K when i purchased the car. As others said, the hidden bracket made it tricky, and I also pulled a wire from one of the camshaft sensor connectors during the replacement.

My 07 IS350 died at 80,000. Fixed at dealer for $900.00. I believe it's a common issue for the 2IS.

Mine died last week 2007 IS 350, only 36k miles. Had it replaced with a rebuilt one at the shop, and also put in a new battery. Now, the steering wheel feels a little more firm than before. Any idea what the problem might be?

Bought mine @ 89K imported from owner in Cali. Just hit 150K and alternator seems to be hanging in there. I’ve had to replace my battery 3 times over the past 3 3 years of ownership. (Car died 2 hours after leaving dealership, they replaced for free, then had to get another about 1 year later.) Just replaced battery 3 days ago after a long trip in CO, and everything seems back to normal. Will update if anything happens haha.

IS350 @ 110K, “Battery” Light on the dashboard. Put the tester across the battery while running only measures 11.9V. Should be 13V+ so it charges the battery.

Time for the alternator to be replaced
