Default LED bulbs for headlights

I am planning to purchase led bulbs for the low beams and fog lights simply due to not wanting to deal with all the wiring for HIDs and wanting to have the reliability of LEDs. Are LED brighter or similar to HIDs? Also i am wondering which brand and where is the best place to purchase them. In all my previous cars i dealt with diode dynamics. On the forum i saw some people mention VLEDS. Is that the go to vendor or are there other ones? Thanks

Hid is brighter. Better output.

Leds have a longer lifespan. Some require heatsinks. I purchased my led drls from vleds. Theyre a sponsor on the boards.

I believe VLEDs have the best overall performance, I bought my sets off of eBay to replace the halogen high beams and fog lights and they work well. I had purchased a pair of puddle lights from VLEDs and they were excellent. I'd buy from them for ease and simplicity, it seems to be what you are going for.

I have H11 VLED's that I put in my foglights. they're great in that application.

out of curiousity I put them in my wife's 2014 Honda Accord EX to see if they would match up with the LED DRL's. Output was not great. my recommendation is to get HID's. If you're going through the trouble replacing bulbs, hooking up a HID kit takes about 3 minutes longer than just a bulb swap IMO.

YMMV
