Couple days ago I forgot to turn off my interior ceiling lights for about three hours, since then my car would not start. I assumed it was a dead battery and I tried jump starting my car for multiple times though they did not work. The engine cranked but would not start.

After that I called my friend to help me out, and he did the following things:
1) Tested the battery - appeared in normal range
2) Recharged the battery - still couldn't start the car
3) Reset the battery - same result
4) Used battery cable attaching the negative side of the battery to create another ground - my car finally was able to start

The following day I went to an auto repair shop to test my battery again as well as the alternator. They appear to be fine.

Anyone has any idea what's going on with my Is 250? Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated!

P.S. My IS 250 is about 43k miles, and I replaced the battery last year

I've read a few stories of members having either a loose ground wire attached to the chassis or it could even be so corroded that the negative battery cable is bad.
