Default Exterior Door Handle Issue

I took the IS in for tint, and when I tried to open the driver's door, the door would pop open but catch after a 1/4 inch. The tint guy was super helpful, and we finally discovered that if I pull the handle about halfway and let the door pop, it will open freely. But if I pull the handle all the way, the door opens a bit and then catches. The interior handle works fine, and the sensor unlocks the car as usual.

I searched around and didn't find any threads addressing this issue...does anyone have any insight or advice? I'm thinking I may have to replace the exterior handle, but I am sure that is neither cheap nor easy.

Why is this your problem, and not the tint guy that broke it?

I honestly don't think he broke it. The guy is legit...I think it started acting up while the car was there.

^Your car's door handle was working fine before the tint was installed, yes? Funny how you're siding with the installer, when clearly after the install the handle stopped working correctly.

So, regardless of whose fault it was, does anyone have any experience with how these things work? Are they are a typical cable-actuated handle? I'm assuming that's where the issue lies.
