My car is 2006 IS250 and I converted the halogens to MTEC HIDs a couple of years ago. For those of you who converted to LED DRLs (found on eBAY), and have an after market HID kit, did you have to make any modifications to the HID bulb housing? I remember (its been a few years) modifying something that involved rubber groumets on the stock headlight housing.

 

No modification needed. The bulb size for my Ebay ones are H7. so just get the correct bulb and you should be god to go.

 

I think they come predrilled for the hid rubber grommet iirc

 

No they do not, you have to drill yourself. but they outline it for you,

 

The old version did come with predrilled hole for HID but not in the newer version.
The only thing you need to modify (in my case) is taking out the one metal price on the cut off light to eliminate BLACK V shape when headlight is on

 

Can I just use the modified cap with rubber groumet from my old HID conversion kit with this new version? Or is this totally different from the stock housing?
