Default Removing a seized caliper slide?

I was attempting to do my rear brakes (2006 IS250) but ran into a snag. The bottom slide that is suppose to just slide off to remove the caliper is frozen. The nut that it attaches to is the only thing that is breaking free and there is nothing to grab onto to stop it from moving. How the heck do I get this thing off now?

Another question for rear brakes is how do the rotor come off? I have it free and movable it just wont come off though.

Thanks for any input.

I've responed to two other threads about this very thing. I'm in a hurry otherwise I'd find them for you and post, just search for my name. Basically you need to muscle it off. LIke put some @ss into it, it'll come loose. Good luck.

seized calipers... so infamous... I've burned my eyes out looking for potential solutions and ended up just getting the whole driver side rear caliper replaced. With a lot of elbow grease, wd40, hammer, and some leverage I was able to wiggle it back and forth off the pin. Best of luck!...

The rotors can be pulled off once the caliper is off. If it's stuck, you can use 8mm nuts to push it off I believe but I just used a rubber mallet and hit the top and bottom until it broke free from the rust welds.

The infamous seized Caliper. I had mine replaced under warranty for a new caliper and it has not happened since then. =x

I tried wiggle the crap out of hit and went as far as taking a 5lb sledge hammer to it for a little persuasion to see if it will slide off with no luck. On the bottom pin there is a nut which is the only thing that will break loose. Then I get a little movement until it tightens up again. I will get a little more angry with it when I give it another go. Thanks guys

What year did you mention it to Lexus? After I purchased my 2006 vehicle secondhand in 2011, I told Lexus about the issue AND about them having previously did the "recall fix" for it...and they still denied my request!

Wasn't the recall for the pads, not the calipers?

I had the same issue. I just left mine on until i could fine a good price on a replacement and replaced the whole thing.

Not worth all the sweat to start beating on it. but that's just my opinion.

Mine froze in the same manner as yours. i could wiggle it and rotate it up and down but it would not slide off. I tried a pry bar and got some good leverage against other components but nothing

GOOD LUCK!

I just soaked mine with PB Blaster overnight, then came back with a torch and a BFH. You will likely need the heat to get it loose, just be careful not to overdo it. Mine wouldn't budge with just penetrate and a hammer. I had to heat it up, and hammer it while wiggling it back and forth, they will come loose. Just be careful and take your time as not to apply too much heat, or shear the pin.

Had the below service done at 6k miles by the previous owner. It was to replace the known poorly designed slide pin seals on the calipers themselves.
