Default What PCV valve?

So I had a recall done at the dealer and they told me I need a new pcv valve. I got one from a local store v513 but noticed another part number of 6p1282. Are these interchangeable? I installed the v513 but just want to make sure it won't cause any damage and it is the right one. Im not sure i notice a difference after installing. Thanks

Sorry I was referring to non-oem parts. But thanks for the part numbers. I guess for peace of mind I will pick one up. Would the PCV valve have anything to do with a high idle?

PCV is to vent the crankcase, I would imagine more for when you park than anything. It is to used to lower pressure. My BMW uses a relatively expensive system that requires changing about once every 100k or so. I would be surprised if a lexus uses a std vent system

Thanks. Seems the problem has cleared a little. It's a pain to get at but for the cost I will try oem.

It's just a simple little PCV valve that needs to be changed. Don't need to replace anything else unless your hose is cracking.

Yeah, it's a pain to take out if you don't remove the intake manifold. An open ended wrench will help out though. You'll need to put some adhesive on 2-3 of the threads, Loctite 271 (red stuff) is what you want, or any Toyota 1324 equivalent, as I don't recall them putting any on from the factory.
