Default Moisture in headlights after HID install

I can see that my passenger headlight has moisture in it after all the rain in california in the past couple of weeks. It wasn't a problem before, but after I installed my HID's (H11) on my halogen headlights, I see that there is condensation inside the housing. I didn't think so much moisture/water would get in there due to how TIGHT I made the hole into the cover for the wires into the headlight itself. Some kind of leak somewhere? I think I read something about it happening to others on the forum also, on the passenger side due to the case/backing of the housing where you drill a hole through.
Any help would be great.. 2006 Lexus IS250

Try putting some silica packets in your headlight.

If you have slim ballast, do what I did and try to stick the ballast into the headlight housing, either to the side or top of the reflector. (H11)

If you do this you can use the original covers and not have to drill any holes.

Good luck.

Don't have the slim ballasts, got my HID kit from XenonDepot 4300k Phillips with CanBus. Just sucks because I need to find out where the leak is at.

definitely a leak some where,

Have you gotten custom headlight work done?

The hole where you had to drill shouldnt affect anything.

When i drilled a whole i left my car for a week in rain and fog ( New york rain and fog) and it didnt have any moisture issues.

Definitely your headlights arent sealed properly or something similar.

What ballast and bulb did you buy? Is it pretty easy to install and fit them in there?

I live in the Seattle area where it's pretty much rain and fog all the time during the winter and so far *knock on wood* my HID install has been condensation free.

Something I did when I drilled the 1" hole for the grommet was to clean off all of the webbing around the inside of the cover and made the area around the hole as smooth and level as possible so that the grommet had no high sides and no pinches. I wanted that grommet to seal as nice and tight as possible.

Headlights are stock, nothing was done to it besides getting HID's on a halogen headlight.

Check where you installed the headlight area. Might be a small opening somewhere

Did you ensure that the caps on the headlights are on securely after you installed everything? There's not many places it can leak from unless headlights have been cracked open before.
