Default Valet Trunk Button - pushed inside car - trunk is locked

I went to unlock the valet feature (the button in the glove box that allows you to open the trunk with your remote) and when I pressed the button it came loose and fell back and is now hidden somewhere in the space between the glove box and the middle radio console. So now I've lost the button to get out of valet mode and can't open my trunk except for my key. Does anyone know the best way to access this space where it fell back into? Take off the glove box? Or can I access somehow via the engine space? Or take out the middle radio section? Or is there some way to inactivate the valet mode (I can live without the button but I want to be able to open my truck easily again! Thanks in advance - I've searched everywhere but I can't find this answer. I have a 2007 IS250

How far inside did it fall in? Could you take a coat hanger and put a hook on the end and try to fish it out?

If not, there's DIYs on how to remove the radio console.

Thanks - I'll try the coat hanger first - but it's pretty far in (I can't see it) - the whole piece including the button I think came loose (there was a broken piece of plastic below it in the glove compartment that I'm assuming was holding it in place)

Did you try pulling out the glove box to see...? I'm thinking that if the plastic piece fell into the glove box, you should be able to reach the offending part...

I tried the coat hanger but it's too far back. Tried disconnecting the battery in the hopes that would reset things but that didn't work either. So will either have to remove the glove box or the radio console to somehow find that button - thoughts on which might be easier? I could find a youtube video for removing the radio console but not the glove box...

There is some info on removing the glovebox on the thread about fixing the air vent servo: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...g-to-circ.html

for the poster above that said they've learned not to press the button too hard - I can say for sure that when the button starts to fall back inside the console and you can't reach it with your finger it's definitely not a good idea to get a pen thinking you can reach it that way. Not the best idea by a long shot!
