Default Mounting a roof spoiler

What do you guys use to mount the roof spoiler? I've used 3 different kinds of double sided stick tape and the ends always end up lifting. I've even replaced to spoiler thinking it was a fitment issue.

try using a heat gun/blow dryer to mess with it to get it to fit better

I had the same problem when I got mine. Three tries with tape and it kept popping up on the ends. I used RTV silicone to glue it to the glass and then threw two bags of potting soil on top to weigh it down for a day. Hasn't budged since.

Might have to resort to that.

I assume the tape didnt adhere to the glass. May be a dumb question, but how did you clean the glass prior to installation?

I had lightweight carbon fiber roof spoiler. I used 3M double sided tape. Onc day after casual in-city stopping it fell onto the trunk, I think the excessive humidity and dust played a rule.

I used another type of tape labeled with 3M too, this time it flew away while driving at 65 MPH on the highway, It did smash the carbon fiber OEM style trunk spoiler pretty harsh on its way. It the trunk spoiler halfway before flying. I had the car outside in a heavy rain lasting for 2 days just prior to this incident.

Overall, with only two-sided tape it is impossible ! My spoiler had a great aerodynamic shape and couldn't last.

Regards,

What RTV are you guys using? I used 3M Double sided tape and it lasted almost a year; now one side is coming off and i will have to redo it again.

Make sure you use adhesion promoter on the window and on the spoiler.

It's a pain in the **** regardless though. Especially if you have to remove it and redo it. The tape is not easy to get off the spoiler.
