Question New member here

Hey everyone, I just bought my very first Lexus about a week ago and love it so far. It's an 06 is250. Idk if this is the right place for this so I apologize if it's not, but I just had a few questions.
-What's a good oil you would recommend? She's got 144k on her right now.
-She's gonna need new rear tires soon. I live in STL, MO so our winter weather is very hit and miss so I'd like to get some good all seasons. What would you recommend?
-Is there anything I should know or look out for specifically with this vehicle?
-What is the best site to go to for parts? Mostly aftermarket as I'll go to the local Lexus dealer for factory parts.

Thank you for all info in advance.

- You'll find a lot of people are using mobile one full synthetic
- Don't know what size tire/wheel you currently have, I'm assuming stock?
- Yes the 2IS has issues but you can find all your specific recalls through lexus, you will need to start an account input your vin and good to go. All these guys here on this site are VERY knowledgable and usually answer most questions. Please see link (very informative):
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...iy-thread.html

- for parts you can go to many;
http://www.nigel-jdmparts.com
http://store.ijdmtoy.com
Carid
And as for oem parts do not go to the dealership unless you have money up the yin yang or a only dealership part.
For these parts you can get oem from;
Rockauto.com(Denso) quality
eBay

Btw welcome & please read the forum rules, use the search engine and scan threads before posting a similar thread.

I guess this is one of the few vehicles that mobile 1 doesn't make the motor extra noisy. I usually run castrol edge but may have to give mobile 1 another chance.
As for tire size, yes I assume it's stock with 225/40/18 in the front and 255/40/18 in the rear.
I know the windshield wiper arm recall and child safety pull in the trunk have been takin care of, and I know about the dash getting sticky but I was more so curious about mechanical stuff.
Thank you for the advice on the websites and all the other info. I do plan on doing more research myself, just still getting familiar with this forum.

Any full synthetic should be good enough.

Lots of people seem to like the continental DWS for all seasons, I have them on my car and they seem good so far. But it was just summer.

Research carbon build up. If you read through this site you will find hit and miss issues with your car. Just remember that anyone who finds himself/herself with car issues will broadcast it on the internet like its the 5'oclock news. There are hundreds of thousands of Lexus vehicles on the roads all over the world with near flawless mechanical problems. Outside of normal wear parts you should be good to go for many years to come.

If you do have any problems you can fix it yourself and save some money. If the problem is above your comfort level you can take it to an independent shop. If you have money to burn there is always the stealership.

I've been looking at the LS460. The bushings in the control arms tend to wear out and cause some issues with tire wear & clunking sounds under breaking. DIY fix is around $480-$500. Dealer fix is $7500.

Makes sense. Although, I usually do most of any work needed myself anyways. No point in paying somebody to do what I can do myself.
