Check VSC/engine/traction lights after ELF recall
That's a good idea. I also still have the old oil from my change prior to the recall. I could send both samples down for analysis.
So after some more probing via email the SA is saying that the O2 sensor monitors and reports back to the engine in terms of how much gas to use. He still thinks it's a defective O2 sensor that may be causing it to potentially put too much gas into the engine.
While this explanation makes more sense than what he said before, I still think that after doing the recall the engine just wasn't use to the amount of fuel it initially got and if it is relying until all the way until the fumes hit the O2 sensor to figure this out, my engine could already have been flooded by that point.
Either way, the car seems to be driving good now. So I think once I change the oil the light won't come back on. Plan on changing it this weekend. Will update this thread if anything else comes up.

Bad O2 sensors can definitely cause excessive fuel to be feed through the motor; but unless a fuel injector sticks open, I've not personally seen an example of a bad O2 causing fuel to enter the oiling system of the motor. Guess it could happen though.
