Fuel Gauge Problem
I recently bought a used 2007 IS250 and couldnt figure out why I was going through a tank of gas so quick. Everytime I fill up when on empty it will take roughly 14 gallons. Ive come to learn the 250 has a 17 gallon tank so Im thinking there is an issue with the gauge. Any thoughts on this?

The IS has a 17 gallon tank but on most cars has a 2 gallon reserve so it would be 15 gallons til your tank hits E.
I don't know if its true for all newer Toyota cars. (I know its a fact for all Hybrids) that if you run completely out of gas, the fuel pump kicks off so it doesn't suck air into the lines. You have to get the car towed to a dealership to fill and reset the car's pump to get it running again. Happened to my ex's prius and her parents camry. (it was a hybrid) dealer said that they do it in most newer cars now so avoid running out completely. Thats why there is a reserve
