Default Melting Dashboard lawsuit won. Questions.

So a few months ago I purchased a 2008 IS 250 and it would completely figure that I came across the melting dashboard problems AFTER I already purchased it. Wish I had done just slightly more research but otherwise I'm happy with the car.

I live in Texas and already noticing the spongy slight stickiness on the dash and especially the side panels that surround the door handle. My fingernail just barely caught it while reaching for the door handle today and left a nice impression which ended up resulting in a tiny chunk of it falling out. Pretty sad considering this is a luxury car but we've all read those comments already.

So while researching products and fixes I came across a lawsuit that was won earlier this year.
http://www.carcomplaints.com/news/20...shboards.shtml

My question is will they cover the side panels since they're made of the same material or is it just the dashboards they're replacing?

Also any advice on products or potential fixes would also be helpful.

Thanks for your time.

Lexus has extended warranty coverage for the dashboard as well as the door panels. There are some threads about it on here about it.

Its amazing on how cheap the dash is. I havent experienced the melting or stickiness. But I had to remove my NAV to fix my touch screen and nicked the edges around. I was surprised how soft and spongy it is. Im trying to find a way to fix it cause with my OCD its driving me nuts lol

Same here. Chunks easily came off, this while using plastic trim removal kit and all.. Let us know what solution you find out there.. Whatever Toyota used to make these dashboards, it isn't the best quality needless to say. I think they should do a recall on these..
