Default Voice Commands Not Working (07 IS350)

After reading through the quick guide and the relevant parts of the full guide I am still having trouble getting the system to recognize my voice commands. The only way I get any response at all is to literally yell a command at the top of my lungs, which only returns a "command not recognized" message. Any input would be great!

I found the list of commands that users of this forum have compiled while searching for the answer to my question and found it very comprehensive.

Voice command has come a long way since then. I do not think I used anything other than the "I am hungry" voice command.

Well, the problem is that it seems totally unresponsive. I just tried that command and it doesn't recognize it. I probably won't use the voice command feature too often but the fact that I can't use it bothers me.

I've always found if you speak very slightly louder than normal and enunciate, it works fine. You have to tell it what it wants to hear. In other words, you have to be exact in using these commands. Also make sure your A/C vents aren't pointed up. If there is air blowing across the mic, it will affect the system's ability to understand you. The mic is near the sunroof controls.

offroad200 is right. The mic is up by the dome light, and picks up lots of noise if the A/C vents are blowing on it. This also applies when trying to have a conversation with someone on Bluetooth.

Thanks guys. I will try and see what happens with the A/C off completely and the car quiet. Hopefully, the mic has not failed.
