A/C issues. Driver side cold, passenger hot
Hello guys, I'm trying to figure out an issue with my sister's car. She has a 2007 is250. Down here in Louisiana it gets pretty hot. When using A/C, the driver side is cold but the passenger blows hot. I was trying to search a bit, what I could find is either the servo motors aren't working, coolant issue maybe thermostat or low coolant, or low freon. She won't be stopping by until Tuesday for me to take a look. I'm going to tackle the easier ones first. What are the correct psi reading for freon on low and high? I read some said 14-16 oz but I didn't exactly see any psi ranges. If low, do I just vacuum it out? Add oil and start fresh? Can you see the servo motors working without removing dash? Any help is appreciated. Thanks guys.

I had this exact same symptom before. Try to set the AC to the lowest possible temperature to see if it would blow cold air on the passenger side. What happened with mine was that somehow the calibration of what the temperature (or sensor) should be vs the position of the some control/motor is wrong in the passenger side. After I set it and blows cold air, I play around with it and it just goes back to normal after a week I think ...
Edit: turn on Dual air mode and set the passenger temperature low enough to start blowing cold air if possible.

My sister stopped by, and I played with settings. Still was same. Bought a can of freon and filled it up a little. It was at 29 psi on the low side at first. Engine was hot and temp outside was 80 degrees. I filled it to 42 psi and everything is working great again. Passenger side and driver side are ice cold. Now my sister wont nag at me anymore
