TPMS light blinking
Hi there,
I noticed TPMS light blinking when I start the car. Tire pressure are normal. I can't initialize the system.
I remember there was some bump on the freeway. The manual says there is a malfunction. Does this mean one of the sensors is bad?
What's the best place to get this fixed, other than going to the dealers?
Thanks,
Kevin

Most likely a bad sensor. You'll have to find someone with a techstream if you don't have one to program a new sensor. Other possible cause would be the receiver ecu but it's rare for those to take a crap

If you haven't already done so, check to make sure you didn't accidentally change the settings to select the alternate set of sensors.
If that's not it, you probably have a bad sensor. They have non-replaceable lithium batteries that eventually go dead.
I would go with your thoughts of taking it to a tire shop. Just make sure that the shop you choose has a TPMS tool -- most do these days. The place I use has a Bartec tool, which can test and read sensor serial numbers without having to dismount the tires.

If anyone knows a good tire shop in San Gabriel Valley, CA to do it, please let me know. Thanks.

I have the same thing happening in my car. I just got my rims and tire package 2 weeks ago. Booked an appointment with the tire shop. Hopefully you get yours fixed soon! Good luck.
