Default Keyless entry remote draining battery

Hi guys, I'm driving a 2006 IS250 and I'm experiencing a very weird issue with my remote, I've been changing the battery once in 1-2 months... At first I thought it was the battery I bought (might have been left on the shelf for a long time) but I've bought from a few different shops. Why is my remote draining my 1632 battery? Please advise...

Cheers!

A few thoughts:

1. Make sure none of the buttons on the fob are stuck.
2. Be sure the buttons aren't getting pressed accidentally, as in an overstuffed pocket or purse.
3. Do not keep the fob in close proximity to your cell phone or other electronic devices.
4. When not driving, do not store the key fob in the car, nor within six feet of it.

Hi Bichon,

I've checked through all your pointers, the only thing i have is a mini LED flash light attached to my keys (3 of them)... other than that, its all clear! I have 2 remote and both of them are like that! so i suspect its something to do with the car...

Carios, good idea, will do just that with both my remotes...

I've googled for this issue but came up with nothing...

Mine requires to be changed once per week.
From my trial and error, my conclusion:
My case not related to whatever nearby bluetooth devices or hp or any electronics device issue. And definitely not caused by key fob very near to car itself.

i took out my other key fob(previously also draining battery fast once per week), which was not used for many years(~3 yrs i think)…

To my surprise, it lasted for 1 month already and i’m still monitoring it.

my suspect:
moisture or contact issue which was mentioned in other threads…
For experimental purpose, i will keep the other key fob(battery lasted only 1 week) in a dry cabinet(for camera) for evaluation…

will update if i have any…

Another possible culprit is that your battery might be a china fake.

i’m using the same battery batch for these 2 key fob….as the previous one always last 1 week…i bought around 20 of them…
The current one which already lasted 1 month used the same battery from the same batch.
