Default Video input non ML nav system

This my have been answered before, but was curious if there is a way to display video on a non ML nav unit. Like via iPod, android, iPhone or things like that? Is there a way to install RCA cables to the back of the unit? Thanks ladies and gents.

I'm pretty sure you can't do it unless you have he ML nav. I had to buy the an aftermarket head unit (Fly Audio) to have video.

There use to be a vendor on this forum that sells that unit. You can convert non ML nav to RCA. If you search for my profile, I sold it to another vendor in the past.

You should look into the Vaistech products. I have the Vaistech iVic 5i and it allows me to play videos from my phone via HDMI.

To integrate your Apple or Android smartphone, the Vais iVic products should do it. http://www.vaistech.com/site/iVIC-droid.php To do the hookup with RCA cables, the Nav Tool: http://www.navtool.com/is2.aspx

Thanks Bichon, that RCA one is exactly what I was thinking? I wonder how well it works. And still wondering if I can just plug in a ML DVD player and watch DVD's too. Thanks everyone!

Sorry Boom05, originally gave you a bum steer. Before editing my post, I linked to a cable for adding rear seat monitors to the existing screen. I found and updated my link to reflect the correct device. http://www.navtool.com/is2.aspx

Yes, they are worth it. They allow you to maintain all OEM functionality while adding on features such as viewing videos on your headunit and being able to control all of your music from your phone with the unit, rather than manually from the phone. Also, their customer service is awesome!
