Default oil?

2006 is250 sport with ML 39,000 miles driven normally, occasionally open throttle.

What oil should I use? Not sure what was in it to begin with but I need one now.

any specific brands?

and live in canada so any specific type of oil incase the same brand is not carried USA.

Synthetic? semi synthetic? Highmilage ( because its old?)

what your guys say?

Your car only has 39k miles no need for highmilage oil. I always use full synthetic 5w30 mobil 1. Thats what lexus recommends. Since u live in Cali you can use a bit more viscous oil cuz you never see snow.

OOpz missed the part where you said car is in canada. Depending on where in canada ur located, in the winter time you can try using 0w30 as well since its less viscous when below zero.

I found Mobil 1 synth to make the engine run noisy on my is350. I've tried a number of synthetics but I recommend Penzoil Platinum if you like a quiet engine or the oem non-synthetic.

Let me clarify... I like to hear my engine when I step on the gas... Not when my car is just in idle I found some oils make the is350 loud when it's just idling.
