Default IS350 Oil Capacity

So I know the maximum oil capacity for the is350 is 6.6 quarts. Those of you who do you your own oil changes how much do you put in and where is the oil level at? I put in 6.6 quart and its still below the second dot on the dipstick. That measurement is with the car running and checking after 5 minutes of engine shutoff.

I always check oil level, on a leveled surface, cooled off for about an hour. There's only so much you can put into the oil filter til it starts pouring out as you tighten it back on. Mine is at 6-7qts. w/filter

I use 6.5qt and measure with the engine completely cool. Just below high mark. With the engine hot I get below half.

How much oil is too much oil? Say if I'm a little over the second dot I'm I good or do I need to drain?

If it's right over the second dot it's okay.

For me 7quarts and a new filter puts me right above the second dot.

It takes 7 qts with the filter cartridge full as well as the oil galleries. Put 7 in it. Start it. Let the oil pressure light turn off then turn the car off and check oil.

I've been called a liar but my car takes 7 qts every oil change and it lands right on the full mark.

The manual says 6.2 qt without filter and 6.6 qt with filter. Whats wierd is when changing the oil and filter then adding the 6.6 qt it only put the oil level just tad but under second mark. So yeah the 7 qt make more sense not sure why manual say 6.6qt.
