Default Replacing headlight bulbs?

I have the new bulbs but the mechanic I went to wanted to charge $75 each to install them for me because he said it's not an easy install. Does that sound like a reasonable charge?

That's BS! It is so easy do not have to be mechanically inclined to tackle this.

I just luv posters how come here, say something is simple and leave it at that

Actually it's not that easy, but with the proper tools, it's something a mechanically inclined person can do without too much trouble. Here's the DIY I found by using the search function:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...hid-bulbs.html

For a mechanic to do it, $75.00 for both would be fair IMHO.

but Lou it is simple i'm not taking a jab at OP. I read the same posts before doing mine and then did it. Takes longer taking the plastics off than popping the bulbs out. If you can move your wrist you can change these bulbs (a wrench and screwdriver). There isn't anything difficult about it. OP if you were closer i'd knock it out for you bro. I'll be in San Diego next weekend if you near the Coronado area. If not then just give it a shot doing it yourself... honestly just read the posts watch the videos... save a little money.

Thanks everyone. I'd read the DIY on replacing the bulbs and figured it was something that shouldn't take more than 30 minutes or so, but I was already at the mechanic to get my ebrake cable tightened, which is why I asked him about the headlights. He actually wanted $150, $75 per bulb not including the cost of the bulb.

I ended just doing it myself, following the write ups posted here.
