Cold start grinding?

Hey guys so my 2is gets a very bad grinding sound when I cold start the car it only happens once in a while I have no idea where it is coming from since it doesn't happen often. What could this be?

IS250 or 350? There is a recall on the 350 for the "cam rattle" at start-up issue. For the 250, though members have experienced this issue, there is no factory recall to my knowledge.

I have an is250 I guess it is cam gear rattle but I still have warrenty so recall or not I'm good thanks for the info!

I'm experiencing the same thing. It only happens once in awhile. I'm due for my 60k and taking it in to the dealership. Will keep you posted on the outcome.

Go to YouTube and search cold start Lexus IS. I posted a couple videos of my car. Of its the same noise like mine it's a very simple fix. Alternator pullie needs replacing
