Default Door not opening

Hey guys, (and gals)
It seems that im logging in only when i have a problem with my IS
Well, here is another one where i need your suggestion and help.
My door handle doesn't work anymore, i simply cant open the passenger-side door. I pull it and nothing happens and the same goes from the inside. First my girlfriend noticed it about 3 months ago that the door sometimes wouldn't open or close unless the handle would be pushed from the outside, it was kind of getting stuck in the pulled out position, so i had to push it in and it would function. now its gotten to the point where it simply doesn't work.
So my questions are:
1. Would you have any idea which parts i would need to get?
2. Where would i get them?
3. Is there anyone in the Tri-State area who might have the part or who is willing to meet up and fix the issue?
Im in NYC, but i'll drive out to nj or whatever if there is anyone who has the part or knows how to fix it.

Obviously Dealer is the last resort...

The door's locking mechs have been known to go out and need to be replaced.

I would remove the door panel and take a look. It may have become disconnected. (Forget what parts are called).

There's usually a rod with a bent end that goes into a plastic clip. I would see if that somehow popped off or broke.
