Post Does my 2009 IS 250 have HID's?

Hello everyone.

New to the forum, so I wanted to ask around to see if my 09 250 has HID headlamps. I've searched everywhere and can't find a clear answer on how to tell if I do, or if I don't.

So, with that said, is there any real distinct way to see if I do.
Reason being is I'm looking to replace my entire headlight housing on both the driver and passenger side.

Side note..if I do have HID's would I be able to simply buy a higher bulb? I.e. 6000k, 8000k, etc.

Look forward to the help!

Thanks!

Yes if you have HID's you can just replace the bulb, easiest way to tell is to take out a bulb and see what kind of bulb it is, second easiest is the color of the output, is it more white or has the hologen look to it? You can also call a Lexus dealer provide them with your VIN and they will tell you.

26, follow the other member suggested to fine out HID or not. If you have HID, you can replace with D4S either with 6k or 8k. Now there are quite a few brand out there from the sponsor such as KBcarstuff and nigel-jdmparts. I have tried both from KBcarstuff with generic 6K and 8K and the Phillip brand with 6200k. Personally, I like to see better at night so I decide to go with 6200k with Phillip where as the other with generic brand did not bright enough for me on the road. If you want brightness and quality, I suggest you go with the Phillip whether it is 6k or 6200k if the budget allow. Here is the sample of 6200k on the vehicle right now. If you don't have HID, then you will need a complete HID kits like H11 Xtreme Digital HID Conversion Kits and choose your color temperature. I had this brand on my other GS vehicle for the last four yrs from KBcarstuff and only one ballast went out on me. Good luck.

i was just confused, because i wasn't sure if it was a true HID, or a projection bulb.

yeah that looks pretty sweet! I def wanted the brighter light at night. I had a set of 8000k on my silverado before I got my 250, and I miss it.
you wouldn't happen to know if it would be any harm in replacing the whole headlight assembly?

5000k is perfect. I started with 8000k back in the 90s then finally went to 6000k for like ten years and finally gave 5000k a shot. Way better light just like I've read others say and it's not yellow it's white. But if you miss 8000k you might not like it at first.

You should save up and get the HID housing replacement if you are going to do it... looking at your bulb is indeed the easiest way to tell what you have if you don't know.

If you provide your VIN I can tell you without you having to take your headlamps apart
