OK so I installed an HID kit the other day. I discovered what I believe is the perfect spot to mount the ballast and it's under the headlight. There appears to be a space where an OEM ballast would mount so this is where I mounted the aftermkt as well.

Has anyone else placed their aftermarket ballast here? The bottom of the headlight is made of plastic. Does the ballast get really hot and can actually damage the plastic? Here's a pic of where I placed the ballast. Lmk. Thanks.

im sure that spot would work fine. I honestly just double sided my slim ballast to a part near the covers of the headlights.

Thanks. I'm guessing I may be one of few or the only one whos mounted the ballast in this location?! I hope it turns out ok. Keep everyone else posted should it fail..

I did it there and had no problems. The only issue is when one of my ballasts failed, i ended up having to pull the front bumper, headlight, etc just to get the ballast out... pita, so now i just zip tie it to somewhere near the headlight

^Alright then. Which kit do you have? I got the pricier kit from VLEDs in hopes that I don't have to change the ballast/bulbs as often as the cheaper kind as I've found are likely to fail more often..
