The HID headlight of my driver side does not turn on all the time, it takes about 2-15 tries everytime I start my car to get the damn driver side HID to work. I don't know if I'm using aftermarket or Lexus factory HID kits but they are Texon kits and I wonder what should I consider when replacing the bad ballast? Is it ok for me to just get any ballast and plug it in? Or should I get the same brand ballast I have on my passenger side? What type of ballast can I use, can I any HID ballast?

 

so did your car come with OEM HID's? if it did, just replace it with the oem one since it will bolt and plug right up.

from youre saying, that they are TEXON, it doesnt seem like they were OEM. i would just buy another HID ballast and wire it up.

 

I am in the same kind of boat. Can you use any ballast with the bulbs or are they specific to the brand/bulb?

 

Just get another OEM ballast from ebay. Those aftermarket ones will fail earlier.
