Default 06 IS350 alternator labor time?

So my 06 IS350 all of a sudden developed a whining noise, and then yesterday I noticed a burring rubber smell…

Took the car to work this am (had an appointment for tomorrow am) and the battery/charge light came on once or twice..Called the dealer and got rescheduled for today. On the way to the dealer, the charge/batter light came on and stayed on, and then all the warning/check lights came on and the radio quit..Then all the warning/check lights went out, except for the batter/charge, then the all came on again and the power steering quit..Fortunately I was very close to the dealer..

So turns out it is the alternator..no big surprise with the symptoms…

Turns out the dealer says its a 2 1/2 labor job to R and R the alternator..Seems really high? Anybody know for certain what the actual shop time is?

2.5 hours sounds about right. Replaced mine with the help of a buddy and it took a little over 3 hours.

Had mine replaced last year, same symptoms. 2.5hr is a good time for the job. You may get the alternator for less at Sewell Lexus with your CL discount. Maybe you can get the dealership to match it. 😊

Took me 2hrs when I did mine. The only difficult part is getting to the bracket attaching it to the block. With the right length extension though, it worked great.
