Retro fitting 2011 Lexus IS250 with 2006-2010 Sewell Led Headlamp Retro-Kit
I have a 2011 Lexus IS250 with the standard halogen headlamps. I was wondering if the LED retro-kit that Sewell sells for the 2006-2010 models fit onto my car?

They'll work fine - they won't work like OEM without the use of a relay harness though. They'd just work as if they were put on earlier models, you have to turn your stalk to the parking light position for the LED's to work.
I think BoyOhBoy is referring to an aftermarket HID kit with the 06+ halogen projectors and not the factory 2011+ LED HID kit.
I have the 2012 headlights and although it's not as good as say my TSX's factory HID's (those are very good), it's quite acceptable.

Yes they will, I've got both headlights wired to a single relay and it works like OEM.
Ignition on = LEDs on.
Stalk in auto position = LEDs on 100% in daytime, 50% once it's dark enough for the parkers to be activated.
You can also use the stalk manually and it will function the same.

Somebody help, i've just had my lights installed at a local shop. When I turn the car on its only the DRL on. I have to switch it once for the LED to come on. and then if I switch one more time then its LED and HID. How do I get it so that the LED becomes my DRL?

1. I used a 16ga wire with a quick connect, and tap into the solid green wire on the headlamp harness.
2. Tap the other end of the wire to the other green wire of the headlamp harness
3. Use another quick connect with another wire and tap into the wire you just did.
4. At the other end of the wire, use a fuse tap to plug into the IGN2 slot.
After that, the LEDs should light up when the car is on. Few pictures of another thread for referencing. Also note that I don't use the AUTO on the stalk so the extra steps is not required. Original thread https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...tallation.html

Thx for the write up PhoNoodles. I grabbed my lights from sewell. I thought it was suppose to be plug and play? Also, after the installation my AFS light is constantly flashing and my blinkers are also hyper blinking on both sides.

The Sewell kit is plug and play. That's just how they wired it to work as, when parking light is on, LEDs are on. The new LED headlights don't have the AFS motor in them, only auto leveling that's why it's blinking. You can either take apart the instrument cluster and put black tape over the light if you want to keep the auto leveling. Other option would be to just remove the 7.5amp AFS fuse in the driver kick panel, which takes like 30 seconds, to stop the blinking but lose the up and down feature (which I didn't care for). As for the hyper blinking, there should have been a new flasher relay shipped with the headlights if from Sewell.
