Default IS350 brakes squeak in reverse

Not sure why but my 06 IS350 has a very loud squeak noise when I back out of my driveway when the car is cold. I start my car, put it in reverse, and slowly let it go in reverse using the brakes (out of the garage). A very loud annoying squeak starts up. After driving for a little bit, the noise no longer appears. As far as I know the brakes are OEM and they work great.

Any ideas why the squeaking is happening in this situation?

Thanks

Are your brakes worn evenly? Just a thought

this happened to me on an old car. it turned out to be a clip on the brakes that was rubbing on the rotor...was quiet in drive but in reverse was very loud and annoying.

You said as far as you know they are OEM. Do you know if they have any life left on them?
The brakes on my is300 are doing the same thing and i will be replcing the pads on it here in a couple hours because it is doing the exact thing yours are doing.
Mine is pad wear, is yours?

I have Centric Posi-quiet pads in my fronts and they squeak in reverse while cold.

Brake rotors tend to accumulate surface rust when you let it sit for a little while. Sometimes even over night you can see the surface rust start to form. You would usually hear a squeal when you begin driving but goes away quickly. I wouldnt worry too much

Sorry for the late response...I can't tell if the brakes are wearing unevenly. I bought the car from a dealer in WI and they used OEM brakes, which are almost a year old. The brakes feel great and stop very smoothly. It's just when the car goes in reverse after being cold for some time. I know that when its damp out, the brakes get a layer of corrosion which makes perfect sense, but the squeak still occurs after many dry days. The car is also garage; I don't notice any moisture build up so I assume the garage is dry.

I won't worry too much since the performance is still really good. The neighbors will just have to deal with the squeaks.

Thanks guys for your input.

This!

My brakes on both car (one new, one old) squeal when reverse especially at start up in the morning. I have mechanics check several times and no issue with pads or rotors. I would not worry about this.
