Hey guys I just need a little help about my Car's lights/

I heard somewhere that with the car (i have a 2006 Lexus IS250) when i install HIDs i dont' need a ballast for the lights considering mine are projectors.

Also would my fog lights be a different bulb as well?

What kind of bulbs would i require for the Low Beam and the Fogs if i were to put in HIDs

 

I think your confused HID is what the ballast are. Without that there no HID its just a bulb. Unless you already have HID stock then you just wanna change the bulb?

All 2IS have projectors. The question is do you have HIDs stock or Hologen headlights.

Then all you need is a D4S bulb of whatever temperature you want and that's it, you don't need to remove the ballast. The fog light bulbs are 9006 I believe.

 

I would make sure first, just because you have projectors doesn't actually mean you have HIDs. If your car is luxury/sport package or have AFS headlights, it is HIDs. Bulb size should be D4S, fog lights bulbs are 9006.

 

Yup i do have the Luxury Sports package and AFS

 

If you are 100% sure about that then all you need is a D4S bulb for lowbeam and 9006 for the fog.

If your car has AFS then you already have HID, unless you just want to change the bulbs. then if thats the case all you have to do is switch to different D4S HID bulbs. no need to mess with the ballast at all

HID's were a stand alone option like navigation, package doesnt matter

then your stock HID bulbs are D4S and your fogs are 9006

 

D4S Bulbs only for the headlights if you already have HIDs which you seem to.

You need a 9006 HID Kit for the fogs, since those are halogen.
