Default Should I go for it?

Guys please help me out with this last one...

http://www.carsforsale.com/used_cars...50_225231747_5

Would you guys do it if they lower the price to $19500 or $20000? I know its a 2006 but has only 29k miles which is very important to me. Also has everything else i want. The color i want, has navi, has sports package, has X package i believe, has memory seats, has heated and cooled seats!

Only had 2 owners according to carfax, also on the carfax it shows alot of "services" but doesnt say for what, just says "car serviced" and it seems like it was around every 2k miles? could that just have been an oil change or something? Thanks guys

For me model year is just as important as mileage. I'd check the VIN for the "Carbon Build Up" issue (https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...ld-up-csp.html) which effects 2006-2009 I believe. There are numerous threads on this but seems like a pretty big deal. You can check the VIN for recalls on Lexus' website (https://secure.drivers.lexus.com/lex...-lexus/home.do)

Also most guys will tell you to go IS350 if you can. For what its worth, I paid about $6K more OTD for a 2012 IS250 AWD with the luxuary package with similar mileage. Im not heavy into mods and racing so the 250 fit me fine.

Ill get off my soap box now

The listed car does NOT have the X-pkg. I'd take cash to the dealership and offer $18k with in cash in-hand.

Ask them what their options are. But I ended up just getting a loan for a specific amount, and the check was pre-made for the Chevy dealership I bought my Lexus from. Handed over the check, and it was a done deal.

MAYBE they would allow you to obtain a loan and deposit the funds into a checking account. But IDK.

Check would be fine, I mean that's still considered buying the car in cash right? Also the check amount woukd have to include the price of the car plus taxes? So if we settle on let's say 19k check would have to be closer to 21k correct?

For that low of mileage, I think 20k is fair.

It actually had just shy of 34K miles but 1 owner and great service history...the toyota dealer originally had it listed for 27600. I walked in with cash/check and said I'd pay 26K OTD. The salesman said i was crazy, called me a week later and asked if i was still interested

Guys so if dealer says he will settle for 19k or 20k that means without taxes and interest right? Sorry but I never bought a car from dealer before, so if we settle on 19k what can I expect to pay out the door? Or in other words what woukd my loan be? Then I will obviously subtract from that the money I have for down payment, thanks.

To make things easy, I always negotiate the "out the door" price which includes: Taxes,Title,Dealer BS fees/ etc. and walk in pre-approved or cash/check in hand. Doesnt matter what the invoice says does it? Offer what your comfortable paying out the door

Yes, you are correct. They are going to tack on Tax, Dealer Fees, Title Fees, etc. Dont get caught in the weeds with those fees. Offer one price out the door!

^^^ what he said, never try to negociate the listing price. they'll make up a 2k dealer fee to recouperate.
Ask for otd price and negociate that as low as possible.
