Default o2 sensor HELP

So I took my car out to mechanic to have my exhaust put in. So the mechanic said to me he needs take my carpet out in front in order to remove the o2 sensor off the midpipe and wanted to charge me $200+ just for a bolt on exhaust. WTF!
---So is he being serious? how you guys got the o2 sensor out just to bolt on the new exhaust kit?

Take it somewhere else. There is a o2 socket they use to remove it. Takes a couple seconds. The whole midpipe installation took my shop 15 minutes.

Dafuq is he charging you $200 for? Yesterday it took me 2 minutes to remove each o2 sensor off of the midpipe. I installed o2 sensor spacers to get ride of the check engine light due to the catless headers.
