Perhaps a short in the wiper switch stock itself; perhaps a new wiper stock could fix it. I had to do this once in a Honda Civic I had; easy fix really.

Any chance you have the Luxury or Sport Package, and have rain-sensing wipers? If so, the Auto position replaces intermittent mode.

There recently was a recall for this, check with your local dealership to see if they will fix this for you out of warranty.

The recall was for a problem with the nuts that hold on the wiper arms, not for a problem with the intermittent wiper setting.

Same problem. I removed the switch, took it apart and cleaned it up (the dilectic grease was black on the contacts), but intermittent still doesn't work.
I was hoping someone had a fix like the one for the clock (which worked great for me). With the clock there were certain solder spots that needed to be heated up (but not resoldered).
I'll post again if I can figure this out without purchasing a new or used one.

Default Quick temp repair for intermittent wiper issue, sensor down.

Behind the rear view mirror, you will find a black box attached the the front windscreen, at the bottom the this box you will see a release clip that can be removed with a small flat head screwdriver, push it into holes on the side and pull down to release, this will allow the rain sensor to drop from the windscreen, unplug the auto wiper plug from the socket, replace everything in reverse order and you should be done. everything will operate as should and you will have intermittent wipers on the auto position using the stalk, replace rain sensor for full fix.
